I recently spent a couple of days in Paris, and...
The book I took to read on the plane was by Eileen Myles, The Importance of Being Iceland. I’m really enjoying how she writes and was sorry to miss her speaking engagement here in Mpls just last night. I had the stomach flu. I recommend her book highly. Here is a small selection of images from the trip. These are from Paris. These are from Madrid.

Thank you
to the people who said they needed to see my work at AAW. You’re the reason I opened my studio. Special thanks to a few people who came back several times. Let’s be friends.

Headed into a sandstorm.
Where have I been?  I’ve been getting ready for a 3 week trip to China. We leave tomorrow on a 13 hour flight in coach. Ugh.  Fortunately we have what looks like a wonderful hotel  in Beijing in which to decompress and adjust to jet lag, and in which to find shelter from the current dust storm blowing through that part of the world. After seeing the photos online this morning, burkas now...

Philagrafika calls me.
I am departing for the Philagrafika print extravaganza tomorrow. I have 3 days to take in as many print shows as I can in venues big and small around the city. I am a former resident of Philadelphia, so I am looking forward to familiar places and meeting up with east coast friends. I’ll be getting my morning coffee and lunch at the Reading Terminal. A big, old food market that was my former...

I emailed my friend Sam today to tell him I will be in Philadelphia in 2 weeks for the Philagrafika print extravaganza, and did they want to meet there on Saturday? I got an immediate response saying they were leaving tonight for India! Oh well. I’m sure they will have a great time. They are letterpress people, with a small shop in the back yard. For maybe $30/yr they print and mail 2-3...
