Philagrafika calls me.
I am departing for the Philagrafika print extravaganza tomorrow. I have 3 days to take in as many print shows as I can in venues big and small around the city. I am a former resident of Philadelphia, so I am looking forward to familiar places and meeting up with east coast friends. I’ll be getting my morning coffee and lunch at the Reading Terminal. A big, old food market that was my former grocery and baked goods source that I’m happy to be staying very near to. It’s the best place to get authentic Amish-made pretzels and cheesecakes. And I’ll be getting bean cakes from the Chinese bakery a couples of blocks further.
Walking around Philadelphia quickly grounds you in the history of this country. It’s not unusual to find yourself walking past Ben Franklin’s grave, or viewing 3 generations of Calder sculptures within a few blocks of each other near to city hall. I’ll post images when I return.
